Decorating, filling spaces, making a vision come to life.. it can be very overwhelming if you let it. The trick, for me, is taking it one room at a time. Baby steps!! I started with all of our bedrooms first. Moving is a big deal for children, so I wanted to make them feel safe and comfortable, plus have their own cozy space with easily accessible toys and room to play.
The toy room has been my favorite “makeover” so far, and I did it on a budget so I thought I’d share with y’all!! Let me know what you think 💕
I’m so happy with how this space turned out, and most importantly my kiddos LOVE it! They spend so much time in here now.
I put it all together with TONS of help from Amazon, so I’ve linked all of those items below.
The adorable table & chairs was built by my super talented mama. You’ll be seeing a LOT more of her work here on the blog as I continue sharing house projects with y’all!
I’ve still got to do some cord hiding, and I have a few more pictures that need framed and hung. Otherwise, it’s all finished and I’m super happy with how it came together!! Let me know if you have any questions, and tell me what you think!

Green Shag Rug
The green shag rug is perfect for a kids’ space. It’s very soft, easy to clean, and there are several fun colors to choose from. I have a blue version in my boys room too. They’re super affordable for a large area rug, and they get the job done!
Mushroom Tent
We all LOVE our mushroom tent! It’s high quality and SO cute
Vine Lights
While we’re talking about mushrooms, can we appreciate the adorable string lights?! The vine lights really helped pull the space all together, the wall above the mushroom was just so big and empty before. I searched high and low for the best option on these, as far as quality + low price.
Command Hooks
Most of what I found was very DIY.. you had to wrap your own lights on your vines and many reviews were made by lots of frustrated people. These that I ordered were already wrapped and strung beautifully!! I used a few command hooks and they hung with ease. 😍🍄
Cube Organizer
I got the cube organizer used from a friend, but I needed some baskets to make use of it. I found what I was looking for with these multicolor cloth bins! They’re really cute and excellent quality.
Wall Decal
Let me be honest here, I absolutely love the way this wall decal looks now that it’s up and finished. But the application process was a BEAR. 😖 I have purchased several different types of these decals, most of which applied very easily so I was totally not expecting how complicated this was! I should add that I’m a perfectionist, which did not help the process. This was a small piece, so I will say that in the end, the labor and frustration was worth it because it does look super cute and I’m very happy with the final result!
Wall Tapestry
The tapestry above the TV added the perfect amount of color that the space needed!
Artwork Displays
I’m obsessed with these artwork display frames!! All three of my kids really enjoy drawing & crafting, it’s one of the few activities they will sit and do independently for more than 5 minutes at a time 🙃 so I wanted to be sure they had a nice space for this. Mission accomplished! The frames have a slot at the top so you can slide their completed artwork/projects in and out easily, allowing them to showcase their work. They’re super fun, and I love when the kids get something done that they’re excited about putting on the wall!
